Berlin is a world class sports hub. The sports teams in Berlin are well known throughout Germany and Europe. Professionally, Berlin Thunder is a known American football team in NFL Europa. The Berlin Thunder has won the World Bowl three times now. In addition, their home arena is Olympic Stadium. There are other sports included in the National League category namely: Hertha BSC - soccer, Alba Berlin - basketball, Berliner Eisbären - hockey and lot more.

Berlin’s Olympic Stadium

Olympic Stadium, Olympiastadion in German, is the top rated sporting arena in Berlin. The stadium was originally built for the 1912 Summer Olympics. However, the event was cancelled due to World War I. Another event would be the 11th Summer Olympics which was officially inaugurated in 1936 by Adolf Hitler, the Nazi Dictator. This stadium’s capacity has now reached 110,000 spectators. This Olympic Stadium also holds both International and German soccer matches as well as venue for concerts and other large events. Only slight renovation and remodeling was done on the stadium since it is certified as a historical monument in Berlin.
