Tresor

The Tresor is definitely the most legendary of all Berlin techno clubs: it is the club for techno in Germany, the Tresor in Berlin and the Frankfurt Omen and the raves there pretty much defined techno in the first years. Unfortunately, the days of the Tresor are numbered: due to the architectonic renewal of the adjacent Potsdamer Platz the old Wertheim warehouse ruin is going to be torn down, and that means the end for the Tresor located in the basement, formerly the safe room. The extraordinary location is what made much of the charm of the Tresor: heavy steel doors, thick walls and iron bars create a unique atmosphere that together with dry ice and stroboscope light feels almost unreal. Thedancefloor is located in the back, a long bar takes care of thirsty ravers in the front room of the basement. The upper part of the Tresor club is more laid back, with a longer bar, lounge seats and an outside chillout area. If you want to see a landmark club of the techno movement before it's history, we suggest you hurry up!
