Frei Universitat Berlin

Berlin being the center of higher education has several reputable universities that offer a wide range of courses. One of the top universities in Berlin is the Frei Universitat Berlin or called the Free University of Berlin in English. National Sciences, Health, Social Sciences and Humanities are the main focus of research at this university. It was also awarded the status Elite University in October 2007. This public university was established in 1948. Currently, it has 35,500 students.

Humboldt University of Berlin

Humboldt University of Berlin was established in the year 1810 making it the oldest university in Berlin. It was previously called the Frederick William University then renamed to Universitat unter den Linden in 1949. Then it was finally changed to Humboldt Universitat to honor Alexander von Humboldt, its founder. Today, the faculty of Humboldt was replaced with West-German professors. As of today, the university has more than 36,000 students.
